After years simply taking images for fun, Scott Swanson started seriously in photography in 2004. This started with a series of classes at a local art college. Through that, he found his skills fit well with portraiture, and working with models of all experience levels.
Currently residing in Charlottesville, VA, Scott arranges photo shoots in his home or rented studios, nearby cities or in the lovely surrounding countryside.
My work can also be seen on ModelMayhem, Flickr, and I even share some images on Picasa, though most of that is private, used for review and feedback with clients.

What others have said after working with me:
Janine B: My daughter was a model for Scott Swanson and she is under 18. I felt so comfortable with Scott right from the first meeting with him and throughout the shoot. He handled himself in a very professional and friendly way with both myself and my daughter Lilly. The shoot was done so well and he absolutely has an incredible eye for taking pictures. He showed both Lilly and myself the pictures as he did them and they were GREAT! I would totally recommend him and am sad that he is leaving the Seattle area.
Stephanie: You made me look beautiful! My mother thought I’d always be a Tomboy, and when she saw your photos, she actually cried. Thank you!
I have had the pleasure of working with Scott on numerous occasions. Not only does he posses great creativity and knowledge in photography, he has mastered the art of making his clients feel comfortable and bringing out beauty from every angle.
As a student 4 years ago, Scott was already an accomplished photographer, and I’m sure he has gotten better with experience. He is great at solving technical issues without losing focus on his model’s moods and expressions.
Scott:
Local fellow photographer here, baffled not to find an e-mail contact on your site. We met at party some years ago and you showed me a lot of your work at that time. I have a both a question and a model referral. Matthew @ drmbowen@comcast.net
Matthew – Thanks for pointing that out! I’ve added it above, and will be emailing you.
