About Scott Swanson

Started into portraiture seriously in 2004 - after completing an unrelated graduate degree and looking for a creative outlet, Scott's wife encouraged him to pursue his interest, which led to a series of courses and labs at the Photographic Center NorthWest. Throughout his coursework Scott learned his greatest interests were in photographing people, a passion he has pursued since then.

Gymnast – Brianna Piedmont

Brianna, one of the competitors at a local college’s gymnastics program, came by for a shoot. Was wonderful to get to work with someone as strong and flexible, which we took advantage of to capture images of her doing some of her great poses against cool backgrounds. Continue reading

Brian A – Former Linebacker

Brian, a former linebacker, was headed through town and contacted me for a shoot. I was free that evening, so headed over to the hotel he had for the night. The space was limited, and there was no ambient light, but I liked the result all the same, and so did he. Continue reading
